Is it always good to be the citizen of the only superpower ?
I dont think if the busy life of United States gives enough time to its citizens to think if it is always beneficial to be the only superpower in the world. Probably, the answer is ‘not’. Being superpower may be good for some, but certainly not for most of the people, most of the times.
Inhabitants of the cold Scandinavian countries enjoy far more better quality of life than their American counterparts. Let us talk about recent poles in Norway. The headline of a newspapers says; Norway stays with labour and quality of life. One Norwegian professor observes about the election; ” this election, like the three previous ones, was all about schools, higher education, families, healthcare, the elderly and the environment-every thing that touches the quality of life”. After all you get for what you work for. Norwegian people care for a better quality of life and they enjoy the superior quality of life.
Interestingly, issues regarding foreign policy or military deployment in Afghanistan were almost absent from the campaign in Norwegian elections. However, on the other hand, Afghanistan and Iraq were the core issues in the last elections. While living in France, I wonder how the democratic let 22,000 persons die each year only because they lack their medical insurance! In a report, published in Newsweek on September 28, 2009, I learnt that 700,000 people go bankrupt each year due to medical bills in US! It is the only United States, which had the honour of having medical bankruptcies in the developed nations!
Barak Obama, first ( and probably last ) black in the white house, trying to be more ethical by providing the guarantee of health care by introducing new reforms. His efforts, not proved successful yet, pressed a wrong button and a new discussion has started in the US; if any other than a white American can be the president? In other words, only white americans can make it sure that only those citizens are covered by medical care who have hell of the money! I dont know why Obama can not understand that it is a war and american supremacy in the world which matters more than the quality of life of a common american.
Really, to be the citizen of a superpower is not always good! You got to buy guns instead of medicines!

Can't you prefer national interests please?
Supreme Court's decsion ends up the political-romance between the leadership of two major political parties in Pakistan. Indeed, the seperation of the 'couple' is as natural as it is in the case of partners lacking so called chemistry. However, the timing of seperation suggests that personal interests are not easier to surpass the national interests and necessary lessons are not learnt from the mistakes of the past. The hope we are not going to back in 90s seems against hope!
Although it is the Supreme Court of Pakistan which banned Sharif brothers from their elected offices but every one knows, as Nawaz Sharif accuses rightly, that courts in Pakistan have a history of being influenced by the governments. So, it is quite natural if most of the people take it as Zardari-influenced decision. One wonders that how could Mr. Zardari forget that the judicial-murder of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and brutal assassination of his own wife Benazir Bhutto could not stop his never-thought-election as a President of Pakistan than how a simple court decision may put Sharifs out of the ring?
Seperations may provide a sigh of relief but not the sense of happiness and so is the case with the both parties. If Mr. Sharif complaints that he was disappointed with the promises unfulfilled then on the other side predictable political turmoil in the upcoming future certainly is not a good news for accidently-made President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari. However, it is certainly not a bad news for all stake holders. The court's decision has injected a power dose into the veins of the lawyers' movement which is aimed at to restore the judges sacked by Musharraf and put the PML-Q back in political stream light. So, the country has been pregnant with political turmoil, horse-trading and social unrest in the times when US officials are formulating new strategy to curb terrorists and extremists in Afhanistan and federally administered tribal areas of Pakistan.
The distinct geographical location of Pakistan was our great strength but our greatest politician made it otherwise. Since, US is in do-or-die position in Afganistan, she is about to take final step to safeguard her interests. And, one must also remember that US is not the only stake holder in this area. So, if the political and social situation get worsenned and uncontrollable for the political leadership, then every stake holder would move forward in pursuance of his/her interests. I just have one question to each of our brilliant and talented politicians, can't you please prefer the national interests over personal interests for a while?

NO PEACE IN SUBCONTINENT WITH KASHMIR ISSUE UNRESOLVED
Some days ago, the most important question in the media was that if India and Pakistan are going to war? The forces of the both countries were red alert at the borders. Although, for the time being there is no immediate threat for war now, thanks for the diplomatic efforts of the world, but one is still bound to think what would happen if such event happen in the future?
According to India, all of the terrorists involved in a series of attacks on the financial capital of India belong to Pakistan. On the other hand, the Pakistani government demands for the proofs of those persons who were involve in these bloody attacks. India thinks that Pakistan is not taking necessary measures against the terrorist while Pakistan says that India has not provide sufficient proofs to act against terrorists. So, in this situation, to war is the best way to fight against terrorists or to collaborate with each other to stop such happenings in the future?
On September 20, 2008 in a suicide attack on Marriot hotel Islamabad left 54 persons dead and 266 injured. The responsibles of these attacks are still unknown although most of the people believe in the foreign hands for these attacks. It was quite easy for the Pakistani Government to blame Indian government to blame for such attacks but Pakistani government did not do so! The question is that did Pakistani government take the right step or Indian government is going in the right direction? It has been very common for the Indian leaders to blame Pakistan for such unpleasant happenings that some times I think if India continues like this, then one day she would blame Pakistan even for earthquake!
It is also the easiest and the best way for the Indian leaders to mask their incapabilities under the cover of Pakistani involvement. For example, there has been 10 coordinated attacks in the city. All the planned attacks have been success-full which means complete intelligence failure. In addition to this, NSG commandos took 10 hours to reach the terrorists, the lack of coordination between the commandos and the police force. The operation against the terrorists continued for almost 72 hours, which means that the terrorists were fully prepared and they had every information about the methodology of the operation by the Indian security forces. Such plannings normally require lots of information and time. The question, which Indian government should also take into consideration, is what the hell their intelligence agencies were doing and why they could not avoid this event from happening?
Well, India believes that Laskar-e-Tayyeba, an organisation aimed at liberation of Kashmir by force, has been responsible for these attacks and she had given such names to the Pakistani officials too. On the Pakistani side, government has banned this organisation from working in Pakistan and some leaders are arrested too. But, why we all forget that by arresting or killing people we just kill their bodies, not their ideas and views.
Such happenings, regardless of their locations, are always condemnable and they should be stopped. Indeed, it is important to find out the real culprits of attacks on Mombai, but one should not forget that it is also important to stop such events in the future. If the both countries are looking for a peaceful and friendly relations, then, they have to solve the Kashmir problem. Otherwise, there can be good relations between the governments of the two countries, but there would always be such elements who not let the people live in peace!

World War 3
The first half of the last century witnessed two world wars and a sacrifice of 112 million human lives. In first world war more than 40 million while in second world war more than 72 million people died due to war, directly or indirectly. Let us think if our name would be included in the list of those who lost their lives in world war III. Some people believe that the count down to world war III has been started. Do you also think in the same way?
Before talking about world war three, we need to see whether wars are the results of deliberate plans or wars broke out without any prior planning. I am not expert on this topic but I believe that if these war broke out accidently then we don't leaders any more and if these events were planned then we should find out those who are really responsible for the massacre of millions innocent people.
I believe that neither of the previous world wars was happened suddenly or without any prior planning. If the preceding wars were pre-planned then how is it possible that third world war is not planned yet? It has been planned. It has to happen. But, who is the master mind? What are his objectives? These are such a question which would probably never been answered to the general public!
I want to believe that there is no one behind the scene. But, it is not easy to believe. Even Franklin D. Roosevelt, the thirty-second president of the U.S. did not believe it. Once he said, "In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, it was planned that way." Unfortunately, he did not say who plans it. It is also possible that he could not say it! Likewise, the father of an American president once said, "Fifty men have run America and that's a high figure." Should we believe that he did not know the names?
We were talking about the third world war. It does not matter if one believes or does not believe that first two wars were planned or not but with every passing day, it is becoming clear and clear that the third world is not so far now. The attacks on twin towers was organized to catalyze the speed of the events. Some people even think that the third world war has been started, and it was started when US and its allies attacked on Iraq on March 20, 2003. Now, situation is going in that direction in which it was planned to go!
Keeping in mind current military conflicts, even if we believe the WW-III is not planned, it seems that our children will experience the mass and rapid destruction of the latest weapons if it does not happen in our life time. But, some times it seems that now time is not very far. It can happen at any time, who knows!
But, what should we do? Should we close our eyes and wait for the time when nuclear weapons will be exploding here and there? Or, we must start our efforts to save the earth for our children and posterity?
